Seven Wonders: Uniting Work to Make an Open Center for Creating Communities
Primary tabs
An extract from the Educomplex director's diary note…
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Try not to treat people in the way that you wouldn't like people to treat you.
Try not to allow people to be treated in the way people have treated you.
One of these is taken from the New Testament. It was said by our Teacher Jesus. The second one was said by the author of bestseller books on Mathematics-Methodist James Pouya, and the third, I am sorry to say, is mine.
Schools are to be turned into development centers fostering the revival of the community's social-cultural life, becoming open, free creative centers for the community. (from the Government Program of RA)
Any program without “how”, without organization doesn’t become a guideline for the community, teacher, and learner as it bypasses a person. There should be work uniting seven wonders which will make the school an open center for creating a community. With this recommendation of organization, I will try to take part in the creation or reformulation of the guideline of our government program.
One of the seven wonders of the village (inter-village or community in case of enlarged communities) general education program is the pure river flowing unpolluted from its root to the estuary as a result acquired by general education. The river is one of the seven wonders of the village-community. Let's start the changes in our general education with the river, with the purity of its basin and riverbed. Let all the teachers and school-children, treating the River Amberd as a dump, be united in one chain around such a revolutionary declaration call, say, Nikol Pashinyan’s, if mine is not sufficient…
The second wonder is the folk house with its cellar, dryer, winepress, granary and bakery, barn, woodshed, store-room, living-room, bathroom and water closet. What more…? Depicting the complete projects of folk houses and exhibiting them with photos in the school exhibition halls: studying, loving-grooming, nurturing-cultivating-completing them in the restoration technology workshop; preparation of deficient details by the efforts of village masters.
Should you enter such a wonderful village, you will enjoy living, staying there for the night, being treated. That will be a village inn, a folk-ethnographical house.
The next one is, of course, the village school with its school yard, allotment, plant nursery, flower garden, orchard, sports ground which are well taken care of in good taste as the third wonder.
The ritual center is the next: the church, chapel…graveyard. The ritual center also comprises the village choir, ritual song dances, cuisine, and traditions.
The fifth wonder is the nature, monuments of nature. For example, there is such a monument of nature in the village of Voskehat.
An inviting open sports ground, for all the year round trainings, may be the sixth wonder.
The seventh wonder is, certainly, a clean and dry path connecting the six wonders. And this path will be free of all kinds of ugly fences, barricades warping the nature. In other words, the seventh wonder is the cleanliness of the village.
Seven wonders having been considered and adopted by the village referendum which are already in the people’s consciousness as publicly protected priorities, as a guideline for uniting the community, as a development program.
I have kept my promise to the teachers of Voskehat no matter the Government will accept my suggestion or not. You can use this open project of mine. You have our support whenever you plan or create each of these wonders.
